HVAC Service Technician

Opening for a full-time service technician.

Level 3 to Red Seal.

The tech must be familiar with HVAC and refrigeration systems and able to perform onsite service troubleshooting on both commercial and industrial equipment. This is a full-time position of 40 hours per week. Will be in the on-call rotation, with possibility of overtime.

Pay: CA$22.51 - CA$48.42 per hour, to be negotiated.

 

Licences/Certification/Requirements:

  • Gas license (preferred)
  • Driver's licence
  • Refrigeration and Air Conditioning Mechanic trade certification
  • Refrigeration and Air Conditioning Mechanic Red Seal certificate (preferred)
  • Ozone Depletion Prevention (ODP) certificate
  • Criminal record check
  • Good customer service and communication skills
  • Basic trade tools
  • Strong electrical circuit troubleshooting
  • Troubleshoot heating systems
  • Troubleshoot ventilation, air handling, refrigeration and air conditioning systems
  • Assemble and install refrigeration or air conditioning components
  • Coach and instruct apprentices
  • Measure, cut and connect piping using welding and brazing equipment
  • Start up system and test for leaks using testing devices
  • Perform maintenance such as, recharging system with refrigerant, checking and testing regulators or calibrating system
  • Interpret gas codes
  • Handle, recover and store refrigerants
  • Repair and replace parts and components for entire refrigeration, air conditioning, ventilation or heat pump systems
